Hola! Looking to spend a couple of days visiting New Braunfels and the hill country area but haven’t booked your stay at any of the local hotels? What if I told you that the Resort at Schlitterbahn offers guests a wide variety of vacation home options for guests looking to make the most of their trip to the area? That’s right! We’re not just a waterpark! In fact, I could talk your head off about how our history took off but we’d be here for hours so let’s get back to what you’re here for! More information on our lodging options!

Whether you’re visiting us in the summertime or during the “cooler” months around the holidays, the Resort at Schlitterbahn has over 60 options in accommodations for you to choose from. If you’re looking for something that can house a bigger group, has a kitchen and an awesome deck look no further – the Hilltop Haus is perfect for you!

The Hilltop Haus:
The Hilltop Haus is actually located less than a block from the Main West entrance to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. This vacation home has enough parking for guests to have 4 cars parked as well as parking lots from the waterpark to take advantage of.  The accommodation can sleep up to 14 people comfortably with it’s three bedroom, two bathroom layout. It’s very unique compared to the other homes because this is the only vacation house that is two stories!

Upon pulling up and walking into the house, you’ll notice that you’ll walk into a long hallway which the downstairs bedroom and bathroom are off of. Immediately to your right, you’ll have a large closet that is perfect for storing all your luggage and other necessities during your stay.

Further down the hall, the first door to your left will feature a bedroom with two king size beds – perfect for the kiddos/teens to sleep in if they like to chat the night away! Across the hall you will also find the full downstairs bathroom. Bedroom with two beds

Going back into the hallway, the last doorway to your right will have the washer and dryer available for you to use. Trust us, we know there is nothing worse than having wet towels everywhere after visiting the park! The hall will bring you into the full-sized kitchen that has everything you will need if you’d like to cook during your stay. All resort accommodations with kitchens have utensils, plates, bowls, cups, mixing bowls, etc., to use during your stay!

Large Kitchen

The kitchen shares an open area with the living room which is HUGE! From the retro plasma TV to the stain glassed window that overlooks the space, this room makes you feel like you’re spending the summer in a cabin in the woods. (Minus the fear of bears hanging out in your yard.) Both of the couches in this room will convert into a full-sized sleeper sofa as well! No need to sleep in a room if you want to have a late night movie party.

Living room area

Off the living room you will find the staircase that leads up to the second floor, please watch your step (as you should with all staircases!)

Winding stairway

On the second level, you’ll immediately see the next bedroom to your right with a king sized bed. Across the hall you’ll find another closet for those who’d like to store their luggage.

Upstairs bedroom

At the end of the hall you’ll run into another bedroom with two king sized beds (go big or go home!) and a full sized bathroom next door. I really enjoy the a-frame aspect of this section of the house, it just helps add more to the cabin-y feel and makes me want to make some s’mores in the grill outside! Speaking of…

Bedroom with two beds

The Hilltop Haus actually has two different front door entrances, the first which you come in through from the driveway and another that is off the deck on the other side of the house. This deck can be accessed by that front door or by the sliding doors off the living room (so many options!) If you decide to go out on the deck from the living room you’ll see tables and chairs accompanying the grill – our favorite things for a summertime cook out. This deck overlooks the surrounding area and the path leading up to the West entrance of Schlitterbahn New Braunfels.

Backyard balcony

Overall, the Hilltop Haus is one of our favorite accommodations because of the space and proximity to the waterpark as well as downtown New Braunfels. This would also be a great home for couples who are looking for somewhere to stay during the fall/winter season while visiting the Hill Country area.  (Imagine having a great vacation home within 10 minutes of Wurstfest in November? We even have a shuttle that will bring you to and from the festival and is within walking distance of your rental!)

After reading this, can you believe that this is only one of SEVERAL vacation homes we have to offer? If you’re looking to vacation with your family, we highly recommend this vacation house! With enough beds to sleep 14 people comfortably, a full-sized kitchen, gorgeous deck out back AND walking distance from the main entrance to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, it’s tough to beat.
