Don’t worry little guy! You are in the right place. Kiddie Coast has been one of the most popular places in Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels for kids and parents since it opened! Find the official attraction page here.
Kiddie Coast is a children’s play area in Surfenburg at Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels. It opened in 1991 and features a wading pool with two play structures and one of Schlitterbahn’s iconic “mushroom” waterfalls. While it is not among the most exciting of the Schlitterbahn attractions, Kiddie Coast is filled with little details the casual visitor will probably never notice.
Until very recently Kiddie Coast was called “Squirt ‘n Sliden”. The name fit better into the German themed naming convention used for several rides, but we realized that the name didn’t tell you it was one of the greatest play areas for kids. So it was renamed in 2013.
One of my favorite fun facts about Kiddie Coast is that from the air, you can tell the “pool” is shaped distinctly like a whale!
Mushroom shaped water features are a simple and popular waterpark staple. Everyone calls them mushrooms because of their shape, but the waterpark term for them is “teardrop”.
Maybe you have seen the Octopus/Submarine. This inventive design lets kids climb up and slide down the legs of the creature and play inside the doomed submarine. Something parents usually don’t get to see is the inside of the sub.
If you look carefully at the bottom of the wading pool you might even find creatures painted right into at your feet. I’ll let you find them!
Kiddie Coast is a great place to play in the sun all day with shade just a few steps away. Many families set up camp for the day with young children by this play area. And you can say you know more than anyone else about Squirt ‘n Sliden…. I mean Kiddie Coast at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels.
