Yes, we feel it too: People are frantically trying to decide what to buy their loved ones and friends. What are you going to get James who hates it when the temperature drops below 70 degrees? Another bundle of new socks?
Sometimes it is always better to get someone even a personal gift or something that they would never have even dreamed of buying for themselves. In terms of a personal gift, it might be a great idea to give them something that brings back so many amazing memories! Design Your Own Keychain, collage a photo album or make a fridge magnet, something that will make them smile but they wouldn’t get it for themselves.
In terms of something big that they’d never buy for themselves, here’s an idea: why not remind James of all the fun he had at Schlitterbahn last summer and buy him day passes for our 40th anniversary 2019 summer season?
This way he’ll have something to look forward to during these cold winter months and you’ll end up being a hero – everyone wins!
Once you’ve bought the tickets online, I know what you’re thinking: “How am I going to gift these to him?!” You’re right; it’s hard to think of ways of how to wrap a sheet of paper (which is what you get when you purchase our tickets online). Like, would James still be excited to go to Schlitterbahn if all he got was a sheet of paper? Probably not.
Thanks to the talented and creative graphics team we have here at Schlitterbahn, we have great ideas for leveling up your wrapping game. Check out the ideas they came up with:
Printable Holiday Envelopes
Our in-house designer Brandon created some holiday-inspired print out envelopes, gift wrap, and gift certificate boxes that you can print out at home and put together in minutes! They’re very user-friendly and great if you don’t have much time before you head out to a holiday get together. I highly recommend using the gift wrap for a small gift card size box.

Next Nydia, another in-house graphic designer, had the idea to create a snowglobe Schatze! This craft was so fun and easy to make! It’s great for anyone that wants to have their kiddos help create some holiday cheer. I couldn’t get enough of the Schatze cutout – my favorite part of the project!
I highly recommend putting your tickets in one of the Schlitterbahn envelopes, this way it all ties in together.

How genius is this?! Kiana really knocked it out of the park with this one. Especially for those who love to repurpose gifts – once you pop, the fun don’t stop! This gift DIY is definitely on the easier side for those of us who only have a few things on hand. I’m a huge fan of this idea because that means I now have more reasons to buy as many Pringles cans as my heart desires!

Last but certainly not least, Karene created the ultimate way to prank your loved ones! I’ve always loved the idea of Russian dolls because of how fun it is to see the person keep opening and opening the dolls only to keep getting smaller dolls. So when she told me that she came up with the idea after a visit to the nestingdolls.co website, a site that allows you to create your own dolls. I thought that it was great on a whole new level! Imagine the look on your friends’ face when they have to keep unwrapping these presents? (I’d just spent those five minutes chuckling into my hot cocoa while they fight the wrapping paper.)
You will need:
Envelope template of your choosing (make said envelope and put tickets inside)
Double sided tape
Your favorite box decorating materials
Small, medium and large boxes (pre-wrapped but not sealed – completely optional to wrap the small and medium boxes)

There you have it folks! Aren’t these ideas fun? They make me feel like I’m a Pinterest pro even though I’m more of a “does a grocery bag with a ribbon count” pro.
