There’s No Such Ride Called “The Lazy River”

I spent a summer at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels as an operations manager and next to, “what time is it?’ the second most frequently asked question was, “where’s the lazy river?” We don’t have a ride called “the lazy river,” but throughout the years park goers have coined the term to name their favorite tube ride. It has always elicited confusion from us as employees…we are never quite sure after asking the guest a series of questions, as to what they mean by “lazy river”, and if we had sent them to the correct attraction. Which leads to the $64...

“Great Day with just me and my daughter”

Decided to spend a few days in Galveston before the end of summer and went to Schlitterbahn. We had a great time, just the two of us, but I have some tips. BRING WATER SHOES (not sexy I know) The ground got really hot in some places and we ended up wearing our flip flops everywhere and hiding them right before we went on the rides, then we had to circle back after we finished the ride. Spring for a LOCKER, some of the best money spent, but use the lockers at the very back as the lockers in the front get crowded and you have to wait to get in them. We did not bring in any coolers (which I know you can) so the food we had was good and the one beer I had was really cold, which was nice since it was so hot. GET THERE AS EARLY AS YOU CAN. The park did not start getting crowded unitl around noon.

“Worth the off season price!”

I stayed in the luxury tree house during off season. It is nestled amongst the tremendous water park which is currently closed. The tree house itself was immaculate on the inside. The beds are amazing and the furniture has the tree house look. You actually check in at a location off site which went very smooth. ...Off season this place is QUIET!!! Great sleeping. There is a river running along your tree house. I would imagine in season the noise level would be another story but then again your staying inside a water park. I can't imagine this not being heaven for any kid in the middle of summer. --Bookiepoo, TripAdvisor
