After the war, she was transferred to the Army and redesignated the USAT General John Pope and served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a civilian manned Military Sea Troop vessel. Built in 1943, the ship was decommissioned in 1990, then was dismantled in 2010 in Brownsville.

Built in 1943, the ship was decommissioned in 1990, then was dismantled in 2010 in Brownsville.  Unfortunately, many of the cots are destined to be replaced since the Texas sun has been a bit too much for them. However, you can still find many of the lifeboats in other areas of our Tubenbach section of our New Braunfels park.
