The top two questions I usually field as a Schlitterbahn employee about our Resort in New Braunfels are:

  1. Is the resort lodging open when the park is closed? Yes. It is open year round.
  2. Can you tell me about the type of rooms you have? Yes. In fact, I’m writing a blog about that very thing right now! (It’s uncanny how you knew that.)

Anyway, sometimes the thing that makes a place unique, special, eclectic, and fun is also hard to explain. Someone told me today that of the 219 rooms we rent at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels there are no less than 60 different floor plans. It is really hard to fit 60 floor plans on a brochure. So we say something like this.

The Resort at Schlitterbahn offers a wide variety of accommodations for your family. We offer standard hotel rooms, one, two, & three bedroom suites, fully equipped vacation homes, condos, & town-homes, lofts, and our beautiful Treehaus Luxury Suites and Riverbend Cabins.

That does cover it. But if you are like me (and if you have read this far, you might be) you want to know more. So here on the Schlitterblog we are going to give you the GRAND TOUR of nearly every type of room at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Resort.

First off, we have Vacation Home, aka Room 450, aka  The Henry Haus.

Henry Haus Stats:

  1. Five (5) Bedrooms
  2. 4 1/2 Bathrooms
  3. Full Kitchen
  4. Dining Room
  5. Two (2) Living/Common areas
  6. Laundry Room
  7. Private Patio with a Grill
  8. Sleeps up to 18

History: The Henry Haus is named after the founders of Schlitterbahn, Bob and Billye Henry, who lived there beginning in 1989. It was built in 1953 and has been through several stages of remodeling. The house was a personal residence for the Henry Family until 1994, when the house was opened to our resort guests for rent.

Now a tour!

Ask questions in the comments below. We will do our best to answer them.

The house was originally the owner’s residence when the property was called Camp Landa, before the Henrys arrived. Not only is it a great place to stay with multiple families, it is a great part of New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn History.  Schlitterbahn Employees still use Henry Haus for company parties, bridal and baby showers, and it has even been used for small business meetings.

Did this awesome blog post make you want to visit New Braunfels? We hope so!
