A water coaster needs four things to make it work: height, slide, plumbing, and electricity. We were excited to be on hand for the placement of the first two segments. The process of lifting fiberglass slide segments in place is called “flying glass.”
It’s now our favorite phrase around here.
For reasons known only to slide assembly crews, the first two pieces that “flew” were the curved tunnel section. You can see the very fun video of the process here.
Slide installation went quickly from there. Here is a photo series putting the translucent tunnel in place:
And here’s the final product! It looks like it’s completely done – and it nearly is, as far as the SLIDE pieces are concerned. Still to come: plumbing and electricity.
