We here at Schlitterbahn anxiously wait every summer season as the Texas weather begins to give us snippets of warm weather early on in the year. Mostly we ask ourselves why it’s in the high 80s in early February while dreamily looking at the empty waterpark. While we technically can’t open until next month for our BAHN BREAK (own our way of celebrating Spring Break March 11 – 18, 2017), that doesn’t mean we can’t eagerly prepare the park’s summer 2017 schedule! We’ve also created a nice visual that show the different stages of our schedule and hours of operation as summer gets closer: What is Schlitterbahn Lite: Limited Attractions – Light on the Wallet! Schlitterbahn Lite has several stages that begin and end our summer season here in New Braunfels. Each of these stages help us kick off the summer season with Blastenhoff open during Spring Break or the entire East side of the waterpark open during certain days in May. It can be a little tricky to understand all the different stages, so here’s a breakdown of how it all works! Blastenhoff only Guests visiting during the Blastenhoff only time of the year will enjoy the world famous Master Blaster, thrills of Wolfpack and Black Knight or float the day away in the Torrent Wave River. Operating schedule for Blastenhoff: Blastenhoff and Surfenburg only At the beginning of...Read More
Happy Holidays everyone! With the winter weather settling here in Texas, it’s safe to say it definitely IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Just like you, I too am sad to have to trade my Schlitterbahn tube for tinsel but that means it’s time to rock all the winter gear I purchased during our 50% off sale last September! (Here’s a picture of my #BahnHaul this year.) Here are some ways I like to rock my Schlitterbahn gear during the holidays. Sipping on some hot cocoa by the fire while talking to my best friend Jill about all the fun times I had riding MASSIV this summer. Refusing to give up on my Summer/Fourth of July vibes by rocking this trucker hat that screams, “AMERICA!” Cancelling out those grey/rainy skies by wearing a tie-dye long sleeve that brightens anyone’s day. Wearing long, warm socks on those below 40-degree days to help remind my toes of those days we were running around Schlitterbahn without a care in the world . Wearing this jacket that subtly says Schlitterbahn so everyone knows what i’m really thinking about while I wait for my car to warm up. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the cold weather (to a certain extent) but nothing is better than riding The Falls in New Braunfels during a hot summer day. That’s all I’ll be thinking...Read More
There is nothing more we love at Schlitterbahn than participating and getting to know the community our waterparks are in. Our Staff Services team at Schlitterbahn South Padre Island is a leading example of investing in your community. For the past four years Brad Fitch, the SPI Human Resources Director, has been working with local schools in the South Padre Island area to give a presentation to students in the area on how to ace an interview. The first year Fitch put together this presentation he had three school districts sign up. Thanks to the success in the program...Read More

“We Loved Schlitterbahn!”
There is something for everyone at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels! Young and old. Our favorite ride was The Falls. This is one massive lazy river with several different features. You can circle the whole east side (new side) of the park and never have to get out of your tube. There are rapids and slow parts. This was great for our family consisting of two adults, a 10 year old and a 2 year old. We all could ride together and there was some thrill and some laziness. There are lots of big water roller coasters too for the thrill seekers.
There are lots of different areas for small children. My 10 y/o and I would go on the big rides and my husband would hang with the 2 y/o and we would switch. I recommend planning 2 days minimum to experience it all. We did the East side the first day and the West side the second day. There is a free tram that will take you back and forth from park to park. The west side is spring fed water and it's extremely cold, even in the heat of the summer.
We stayed off site and when we go back we will book a room at the resort for convenience sake. It's not that much more expensive for an "economy" room and admission is included in the price. Also, you get access to the park an hour earlier this way. This can help you stake out your spot of loungers and get in line for the rides with the big crowd draw.
They allow you to bring your own cooler of food and water. This is a great way to save on meals and snacks. We just left it at our chairs and no one ever bothered it.
We will definitely be back!

“Worth the off season price!”
I stayed in the luxury tree house during off season. It is nestled amongst the tremendous water park which is currently closed. The tree house itself was immaculate on the inside. The beds are amazing and the furniture has the tree house look. You actually check in at a location off site which went very smooth. ...Off season this place is QUIET!!! Great sleeping. There is a river running along your tree house. I would imagine in season the noise level would be another story but then again your staying inside a water park. I can't imagine this not being heaven for any kid in the middle of summer. --Bookiepoo, TripAdvisor
